Data engineer at JPMorgan Chase, where I help migrate a legacy platform and own how data gets into it. Before that I provisioned cloud with Terraform, ran CI/CD and rebuilt the data layer at a startup, and wired lab instruments into AWS at Accenture. I came to code from chemistry and mechanical engineering, so I like my systems measured, tested and boring in production.
Experience
Data Engineer, JPMorgan Chase
Aug 2025 – Present
- Cut a core SQL process from 10 minutes to 30 seconds and a calculation step from 3 minutes to 20 seconds.
- Helped migrate a legacy platform to a new system, owning how upstream data is sourced into it.
- Owned the database tables and reconciled data across systems, merging pandas DataFrames with SQL tables to surface discrepancies, patterns and outliers.
- Connected and tested integrations with external services.
- Aligned with stakeholders on how systems and features should be designed and implemented.
- Managed summer interns and their project from scope to delivery.
Software Engineer, Concha Labs
Jun 2023 – Sep 2024
- Automated GCP infrastructure provisioning and configuration with Terraform, cutting provisioning time by 50% and keeping environments consistent.
- Built and managed the GitLab CI/CD pipeline, automating build, test and deployment.
- Added load balancing and Cloud Armor via Terraform to protect cloud services from attacks and meet compliance requirements.
- Containerized test and development environments with Docker to streamline deployment and scaling.
- Integrated Redis, Firestore and Cloud SQL (Postgres) to optimize data storage and retrieval.
- Closed leaked database connections and added connection pooling, improving security and scalability.
- Introduced a data-layer architecture that separated business and data logic and made both testable.
- Built mock databases and shell-scripted unit tests for the database and endpoints, covering 80% of the codebase.
- Untangled interwoven dependencies to speed up developer tooling without compromising reliability.
- Built a web microservice in Node.js integrating Google reCAPTCHA and the Zendesk API.
- Converted from intern to full-time engineer.
Senior Data Analyst, Accenture
Apr 2021 – Feb 2024
- Integrated lab instruments with Appian, Scitara and AWS, writing 30+ API calls in JavaScript to validate data transfer between systems in an Agile team.
- Built an automated tool that transformed client data into a uniform format and ingested it into the database.
- Managed the client database on Microsoft SQL Server and built a web application on top of it with REST APIs.
- Built a full-stack PowerApps application that let users view and edit Excel-backed data to track analytics.
- Wrote technical documentation and design mappings to hand off applications to teammates.
- Moved to part-time when I started my M.Eng at UC Berkeley.
Software Engineering Intern (part-time), Zing
Dec 2022 – Jun 2023
- Built a serverless image upload to S3 with presigned URLs, removing file-size limits, using Python, Flask and React.
- Designed and implemented a credentials management system to store and encrypt API secrets and other sensitive data.
Software Engineering Intern (part-time), WorkBistro
Jun 2022 – Jun 2023
- Led a team to build and deploy a responsive web app with automated animations, owning the timeline and delegation in Airtable and Notion.
- Built reusable buttons, grids and page templates with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Stitches and Storybook.
- Researched Nexudus platform integrations to connect Square, Google Analytics and the existing website.
Software Engineering Intern (part-time), The Academic List
Jun 2022 – Jun 2023
- Designed the web app front end in Figma and built it in React to display PI reviews, blogs and discussions.
- Built user creation and persistence to MongoDB through GraphQL.
Projects
Furiends (Blue Goji) C++, PlayFab, Unity, AR Foundation
Capstone for my UC Berkeley M.Eng. Migrated an AR game's backend to PlayFab for data storage, login and the in-game economy, upgraded AR Kit scripts to AR Foundation and Unity 2019 → 2022, and paid down technical debt along the way.
Team Juno React, Next.js
Mobile-responsive profile site for the Teamfight Tactics esports team Team Juno, designed and built with React and Next.js.
This site Astro, TypeScript, Zod, GitHub Actions
Config-driven resume with a work side and an after-hours side. Content lives in YAML validated by Zod schemas, CI builds and deploys to GitHub Pages, and the mascot is hand-drawn by me and traced to SVG.
